Framed!!

A lot has happened in the past week or so and I decided I will update only when I have something substantial going on. Something happens and very excitedly post it and then it comes to a halt.

We also met with our project manager to discuss our situation and his plan to get us in the house by the time our lease ends. It was such a great decision to meet him in person rather than getting anxious over emails. We explained our situation and he talked about his plan. So far it all seems to be under control.

Two story foyer. it looks so open and so grand with so many windows.

Front view. loving the elevation.

They leveled the garage and basement, preparing to pour the slab. The garage looked HUGE since we added the four feet extension.

Appliances - Check!!

So we finished our appliances shopping for the new house from Lowes. We made use of 10% movers coupon that we got from USPS office. Here are the final choices:

LG 29.8-cu ft French Door Refrigerator with Single Ice Maker (Stainless Steel) ENERGY STAR

And a little bonus for husband ;). A little splurge sometimes. He deserves it :)

We also bought a grill cover and scheduled everything to be delivered in the last week of July. To make the deal sweeter, we made the purchase online, going through Ebates.com. It had a great 6% cash-back from Lowes on the weekend, almost taking care of taxes. If you haven't signed up for Ebates yet, its a great cash-back site for online purchases. I use it all the time, adding a little bonus at no extra time/cost. Here is my referral link if someone decides to sign-up.

You get a bonus for signing up and making your first purchase too.

Good Deals on LG Appliances

If you are looking for a good deal on refrigerator/ washer dryer, I am certainly impressed with the current pricing on LG appliances in most of the stores. For the most part, Lowes, Home Depot and HHgregg are all offering similar prices. We are thinking about this LG 30 cu refrigerator at Lowes. It was retailing for 2700-2800 in the recent past and is priced at $2400 (original price 3400). Now you could get a movers coupon from your post office for a 10% off, making it $2160+tax. Also you could sign up for emails from HHgregg and get a 10% off coupon. This one is our housewarming gift from my mom.

Now for the washer and dryer, we are considering this front load option steam washer and this steam dryer . both retail for $999 and currently at $749. using 10% off, it will be close to $1350 for both. we are not planning on getting the pedestals,  $500 for steel drawers is not something we want to spend on right now.

Lumber has arrived and framing to begin

A big thank you to my awesome neighbor for sending us the pictures of our house, when they go to check the progress on theirs :). So as per the today's pics, we have our lumber all set and ready for the framing to begin tomorrow, Friday 15, 2015. From what I have seen on other blogs (What would I do without all you awesome bloggers), they could continue working over the weekend. We are so excited to visit the homesite tomorrow and see the progress. Meanwhile some pics courtesy our next door neighbors..

Walls and Waterproofing..

We drove to the homesite yesterday and had such a great time. the forms were off and waterproofing was in place. it was such a great feeling to see the walls and the proper outline of the house. Then we decided to take a walk around our community (small cul-de-sac of 14 houses). We met our neighbors, who were out doing gardening and stuff.. It was so wonderful to meet them and we were out chatting for maybe an hour or more. We are even more excited now to live in a very nice neighborhood.

And now the pics..

Just went to check on the homesite yesterday and we had forms with concrete poured.. Wow it looked awesome. Looks like its getting on track. Also got an email from our PM saying the foundation walls are complete and tomorrow they are going to start waterproofing and underground stuff and maybe framing next week. Still cant believe its all getting real now.. super excited :)

We have footers!!

So we waited, waited and waited till the end of the week Saturday, May 2nd (Our 11th wedding anniversary)  to see if they did anything over a million holes they drilled on our lot. we didn't even hear anything from the PM. So we drove to the lot and saw they have poured footers now. Atlas some progress :). Judging from the other people's blogs I believe it should be foundation walls next..

This is the panorama view of our lot. right side would be the garage and left would be the basement. Thank you to our awesome neighbors in lot 7 for taking nice pictures of our lot as well.

Furniture Galore!!

So last weekend we got our hands dirty with some furniture shopping.. We went to Arhaus store here and loved a lot of stuff... We are expecting to host a few guests after we move in, since we were holding up on having formal guests in this apartment. We ended up getting six dining chairs, a hutch and a buffet and a dining table. most of their stuff is all wood, no veneer and is gorgeous. The table and hutch/buffet that we got is made in India. So we are excited about getting a piece of our country in our new house.

Here are a couple pics. The chairs we got are in Tan instead of Grey. I will add a pic of the table if I find it, but it matches the hutch.
